October 9, 2008 at 12:54 pm (knitting)

I”m so happy to have these socks off the needles!

Pattern: The Firestarter

Needles: size 0 and siz 1 dpns

Yarn: Socks that Rock in Blue Moonstone (Thanks for such a nice b-day gift, Stitch-n-Snitch!)

Modifications: I casted on 56 sts and used smaller needles to adjust for my guage.

General comments: The cables are beautiful once you understand how she wants you to do them. As for the chart, you only do rows 1-8 for the foot, then rows 9-15 for the leg, adding in row 16 once you’ve worked the last repeat. You only do row 16 once!
These felt very snug before blocking and then grew quite a bit afterwards. I think I could have knit them at a slighter tighter guage or with fewer stitches.
Were I to knit these again, I would carry the cables all the way up the leg. They’re just SOOO pretty!
