Serious Surgery

March 5, 2008 at 3:06 am (knitting)

My EPS Hawser/Wallaby Sweater was done.  I measured and did the calculations carefully.  As I made progress on the yoke, it didn’t look right.  It looked too small.  The yoke is way too snug and the decreases recommended are just too rapid to have a smooth fabric without holes.  Not to mention the fact that the decreases are messing with the colorwork pattern.  *sigh*

So I have decided to rip it back to where the sleeves join the body, add some length to the sleeves do a band of colorwork on the body and do the EPS Revisited decreases for the yoke which is 1/4 instead of 1/3.

So here it is.  It really was done in time for DD#2’s birthday.  I hope to be done with all of my surgical procedures on this sweater next week.  Hopefully it will be a butterfly and not a caterpillar when I’m done!
