Easy Lace Scarf Finished

March 4, 2008 at 3:57 am (knitting)

Over the weekend I finished and blocked the Easy Lace Scarf. Unfortunately the yarn is just way too scratchy for a scarf, so it will go off to the frog pond and be made into something else-any suggestions for what to do with 250 yds of Simply Shetland Lambswool and Cashmere in Velvet?

This was a great first lace project and I love the color of the yarn.  It makes me think of raspberry sorbet.  Too bad the yarn is ill-suited for scarves!  Ribbit-ribbit!

Edit:  I tried washing it in Soak and then applying a little hair conditioner.  It softened some, but is still too rough for me.  I’ve decided to find someone to gift it to, rather than frogging it.  Thanks to all the nice folks in my lace knitting group in Ravelry for your helpful suggestions! 🙂
