What Do You Do With Your Scrap Yarn?

December 22, 2007 at 11:10 pm (knitting, Uncategorized)

I’ve been thinking about this one a lot lately.  I seem to have this compulsive need to knit every last bit of yarn into something lately.  So I thought I’d share some things I’ve done and some things I’d like to try.

First, some things I’ve done with my scrap yarn.

Both the Ballband Dishcloth and Garterlac Dishcloth are great for leftover cotton yarn.  With the garterlac, I just change colors after completing each layer.

You can make a pair of Child’s Mittens.

Use your leftover sock yarn to make a pair of “Little 16” Newborn Socks.

Some things I’d like to try:

A mitered square blanket.

“Monster” socks.

The Leftovers Vest.
